i think i met my girlfriends soulamte?
Last holloween we almost married(her birthday too) We went to blockbuster to rent her favorite movie. The crow. There’s this dude that says his fav movie is the crow part 2. They have the same exact eyes. Freaked me out. He suggested the crow wicked prayer. It’s character holds up a scorpion(she’s a scorpio also about blue eyed indians( she is a blue eyed half cherokee) . Freaked me out. I don’t know what to think

Don’t over analyze that. Its probably just a coincidence because you can’t say that’s her soul mate because they like the same movie. I can understand where you are coming from because I read between the lines and don’t generally take things as coincidence but think about this they might be distant relatives.(thats why they have the same eyes)

You’re still bothered by this a year later? This guy’s favorite movie is a c-grade pretentious goth horror movie. Doesn’t seem exposed to the world that exists beyond his Mom’s house.

Half the white teenagers in America say or have convinced themselves they’re "Half Cherokee" only because they think it’ll make them more exotic. She’s "lucky" if she’s 1:16th, and that’s only because an ancestor somewhere in the mid-west plains got hooked up with a Cherokee.

Bottom line, you’re with her-he’s not. Don’t let your paranoia get the best of you.

However, when Heir and Vain are arrested for painting, their secret identities are revealed and creative outlets abruptly severed. From Chronic to Critical: A Latino Family Confronts End-of-Life Decisions
By Karen Peterson-Iyer
Gabriela Rivera is an 80-year-old Puerto Rican immigrant, who lives alone in her rent-controlled apartment in New York City. She has lived in the United States for almost 40 years and speaks some English, albeit somewhat hesitantly. Her primary language is Spanish. Although she is now retired, for years Gabriela worked in a factory where she was exposed to a variety of industrial chemicals now considered toxic. Gabriela’s husband died four years ago of a massive heart attack. She has six adult children, three of whom now live out of state.
Gabriela is a devoted mother, calling her children as often as she can afford and even sending them homemade sweets. She raised her children through their teenage years in the same apartment in which she lives today. She is loath to leave it, although she now pays the rent only with great difficulty and substantial financial help from her children.
Gabriela has long suffered from high blood pressure, which she controls with medication. She also has type-2 diabetes. When she was originally diagnosed with diabetes, she met once with a nurse who advised her on diet, exercise, and weight control, but Gabriela has found it difficult to adapt her traditional tastes in food and her lifestyle to the recommendations the nurse offered. Subsequently, Gabriela’s doctor prescribed medication to help keep her diabetes under control. She tries to take her medication whenever she can remember and when she can afford it. Recently, tests have revealed that her kidney function has been declining.
Gabriela’s youngest son, Marcos, 49, lives near Gabriela. He speaks fluent Spanish and good (though heavily accented) English. He checks on his mother as frequently as he can. Marcos is a contract construction worker, married with three teenage children. His daughter, Cecilia, 15, spends a great deal of her time at her grandmother Gabriela’s apartment, doing homework and helping out with daily chores.
Marcos was also recently diagnosed with diabetes. He learned of his disease at a low-income medical clinic from a doctor who advised him to make major lifestyle changes in order to prevent the worsening of his disease. Marcos is a moderate-to-heavy drinker, but he refuses to cut back on his drinking, since he "can handle it," and it is an important part of his social life. He also has a great fear of needles, and he recoils at the idea of having regular blood tests. He reasons that he will just learn to live with his symptoms, which are still relatively mild.
Lately, Gabriela has had an increasingly persistent cough and often suffers from headaches, shortness of breath, and generally feeling ill. She has been ignoring these symptoms and writing them off in part to her persistent insomnia.
One afternoon, on her way home from work, Marcos’ wife Maria receives a panicked phone call from their daughter, who has shown up after school at Gabriela’s apartment only to find her grandmother feeling acutely dizzy and anxious, and having severe difficulty breathing. Maria hangs up and calls 911, calls her husband Marcos, and then races to meet the ambulance at the hospital.
Gabriela’s initial workup reveals a diagnosis of advanced Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), a lung condition, and bilateral pneumonia. In addition, blood tests show that her diabetes is out of control and that her kidneys are functioning at less than normal capacity. Once Gabriela has been stabilized with oxygen, the attending emergency department physician, Dr. Michael Johnson, speaks (in English) with Marcos, Maria, and Cecilia. Addressing all three of them equally, he informs them that, in addition to the advanced COPD and pneumonia, Gabriela also apparently is suffering from kidney failure, a complication of her diabetes. He would like to admit her to the hospital for observation and treatment of her pneumonia, and to call a nephrology consult regarding her declining kidney function. They agree and Gabriela is admitted to the ICU, where she is initiated on antibiotics for her pneumonia, and bronchodilators, corticosteroids, and supplementary oxygen for her breathing. Upon admission to the ICU, Gabriela’s attending physician there, Dr. Rachel Parker, also speaking English, attempts to discuss with Gabriela the option of a DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) order, but the doctor soon assesses that Gabriela does not have capacity at this time to make such a decision. Dr. Parker then approaches Marcos on the matter, explaining that in patients such as Gabriela, the chance that resuscitation will restore a patient to her previous quality of life is vanishingly small. Marcos, however, vehemen

Me and my gf broke up after i asked to talk about us?
We’ve been together for 8 months, i asked her if we could talk because i wanted to express some things about how she made me feel because i never did and she needed to know. In a way i had the feeling i was going to breakup with her, but didnt want to. we broke up 4 weeks prior to this, her doing, but she literally could not give a reason besides her lack of effort in school, she simply came to my house and sat there while i tried to ask her about it and talk to myself basically. Weirdly, i got bored with trying to figure her out and we just layed on the bed, and gradually went back into spooning position funny enough. anyways, i kissed her and we did for a long time and eventually she got up and said she had to go. I kissed her and she kissed back (very cooperatively) but then asked me not to do that. i told her that i loved her and said goodbye. a real goodbye. i figured it was over, but had a feeling she would call back. I severed all contact except to say about a week later that i would still be friends, because i said that i couldnt handle that when we broke up but didnt really mean it. I wanted another chance really, i know she had other stresses that triggered it. she called me a week later and pleaded that i come back and that she could and would change things. 4 weeks later here i am, we broke up three days ago because i decided for the first time to really express the way i felt. When i came over i may have jumped into it too quickly because i started walking with her and within 5 min of talking i told her i wasnt sure if she even loved me anymore. she was almost stunned. i started to explain why i felt that way and she said i was acting wierd all weekend. i told her that i heard from friends that she was hammered at the bar on friday, i told her i was tired of wondering what she was doing when she went out and stayed at her friends (something she agreed to work on),and said she didnt seem to care how i felt and was never there for me. It all came out fast but the killer was that i told her i saw a pic of her and some dude that was very close. she stopped in her tracks and stared at me, furious. I said how else was i suppose to feel when i dont know anything. Then I asked her if she loved me and she (almost crying) half shrugged. I walked away (back to her house) and came back one more time after packing my stuff. I asked her if she loves me, no response except a tired look. i left. we have texted a few times, shes usually bitter. but can i fix this? what do you think is wrong with her or me? is it over? should i call, when and how soon after? Did she really mean she didnt love me or was she upset or shocked at what i said? It seems to me she has trouble accepting that she could be loved so she is rejecting my love. She is beautiful and smart, and sings beautifully but she can’t see it. I need help.

I’d love to help you but I can’t make any sense of your lengthy run-on paragraph. Please use proper grammar, punctuation, spelling, paragraph marks ..and brevity.

Good. You’ve broken up with her. Now, don’t call her back. If you call her back, or make contact with her, you show that she’s dominate, and that’s not sexy, or attractive at all. Pull yourself together and stop being a pushover, man. Find another girl and began a relationship. When she sees you’re having fun with another girl, she’ll quickly rethink of ways and try to gain interest in you again. Like I’ve said, don’t worry about her. Just stop being too emotional and nice.

Dude, look at all the questions you’ve asked. THEY’RE ALL ABOUT YOU & YOUR GF BREAKING UP!!! I’m sure you’ve heard the same advice about 5 or 6 times now but if you & her are ‘breaking up’ this much then why not make it permanent?!

Definitely leave her & don’t ask about it again, it’s just sad.

Is this turkey safe to eat?

November 26th, 2009 | Uncategorized | No comments

To eat it, or not to eat it, that is the question!

My roommate bought a 12lb frozen turkey and has it in an ice chest with a bag of ice since Monday outside on the back porch. There was no room in the fridge. He injected it last evening and it was still mostly frozen, except around the very surface of the turkey. It’s still in it’s bag.
There was no cold water put in the ice chest as I’ve seen people suggest. The outside temperatures have been ranging in the 50-60’s.

He is a very good cook, but over time we’ve discovered we have a very different idea of what is safe to eat and what is not, also how to clean up after preparing meats, etc. He eats food that has been in the fridge for…eons, and doesn’t get sick. I have had food poisoning twice in my life, and am very careful about guidelines.

I don’t want to hurt his feelings and not eat his prepared food, or have a big discussion about it, and when it’s fried I might be sooooo tempted to eat it! I really would love to indulge in some fried turkey. My son will be coming as well, so not sure if I should ‘warn’ him or not.

Any idea of what the temp in the ice chest would fluctuate to and from? Last night the bag of ice was still about half full of ice.

Thanks for any input. I am thankful to have people to ask!

it will be fine

Who's that American Olympic hottie?

November 26th, 2009 | Uncategorized | No comments

I’m currently watching Universal Sports (basically NBC but they show sports) and they always show a mini-documentary (30 seconds)/commercial of a blond skinny marathon runner with his husky dog. He says that the life of a marathon runner is lonely because you run, you eat, you sleep, you run, you eat, you sleep. He kind of a has the voice of a teenager boy but he looks like he’s around 20-25.

Who is he? Thanks.

He’s Ryan Hall, and he finished 10th in Beijing.
